I had this set of earrings from American Eagle forever, literally since college (oh man, that was ten years ago...) they were my absolutely favorite earrings. But this winter I lost one of them! On a trip out of state no less. After the weeping and gnashing of teeth had subsided, I set aside the remaining earring with the intention of making this pendant necklace:
I only used two things to make this necklace, a 28 inch chain (long enough to hang between my bustline and my belly button), and a jump ring.
I almost feel bad calling this a proper "tutorial" because it was so easy! Because the pendant was already an earring designed to hang from an earring hook, all I had to do was thread a jump ring through the hole at the top and slide it on to the chain. Bam. New necklace. Even though I still miss my earrings I at least got to reincarnate the remaining one into a piece that will still get a ton of wear! Plus, hopefully inspired someone else to recycle a piece of their own.
