crispy oven roasted ranch garbanzo beans/chickpeas recipe

crispy oven roasted ranch garbanzo beans/chickpeas recipe

Today I'm going to share the top-secret recipe for my family's favorite snack with you. And I do mean my whole family, from Noah all the way down to my three year old son. Everyone presses their noses against the oven waiting for these to be done, and regularly burns their tongues on these crispy little buggers before they're truly cool enough to eat.  I'm going to warn you, double this recipe. You'll eat them, I promise.

Noah's guilty snack craving is ranch corn nuts. Which I don't have to tell you are basically like eating straight fat and MSG with a vague semblance of carbs holding it together. A single cup is 530 calories with enough sodium to put you in a coma. I came up with this recipe mainly to give him a healthy substitute for his addiction, and in the process developed the perfect snack food.

They're crispy, they're savory, they're healthy, they're (dare I say it?) better then potato chips. And today I'm going to tell you how to make them too.

Why yes, that IS a titanium spork. Because what's a manlier utensil to stir a manly snack with then a titanium spork?

Crispy oven roasted ranch garbanzo beans (chickpeas) recipe

Ingredients

3 (15 oz) cans of garbanzo beans
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp of ranch seasonig (about 1/3 of a pouch of ranch mix)
salt (to taste)
.........................................................................................................................................................

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Drain and rinse your garbanzo beans, shaking off as much of the water as you can.

2. Coat a baking sheet with your extra virgin olive oil, making sure the entire thing gets coated evenly. Add your garbanzo beans to the baking sheet and gently shake the sheet so they are distributed evenly and get coated in the oil.

3. Place your baking sheet in the oven, and make sure you return about every 10-15 minutes to shake the sheet again so they get cooked evenly.

4. Remove from the oven, and pour into a bowl. They'll look like this:

5. You could stop there, but why would you do that when ranch is so delicious? To make these "ranch" flavored garbanzo beans, simply add your 1 Tbsp of ranch mix to your beans while they're still hot and stir to coat. You can also add a shake of salt if you're so inclined.
