Last weekend Noah and i took the kids to what is, in my opinion, one of the best cultural events in the Boise area; the Freak Alley Outdoor Gallery unveiling. The Freak Alley Gallery is the largest mural gallery in the Northwest, and showcases the work of talented local artists.
Every year during the first week of August they paint over and add to the ever-growing gallery of amazing art on the walls and doorways of the alley. If you follow me on Instagram you got to see the work in progress when Noah and I went out for our date night last week! We wanted to check it out while work was still going on, it's not often you get to see the creative process taking place on such a huge scale!
This is the place I take visitors to Boise, it's our city's hidden gem, and never fails to impress outsiders who think of Boise in terms of potatoes and hicks. Noah and I were excited to take the kids, the gallery unveiling is a big event! Hundreds of people come through to check out the new work, there's live music and you're literally feet from some of the best restaurants and bars in Boise.
Because this was a casual outdoor event, I stuck to a really casual outfit that was comfy enough for walking around downtown. This tank is one of my own DIY's, and I threw my leopard cardigan over it because I knew we'd be walking around at night and I might want layers. Done!
If you liked this outfit, you can check out more on my style page. And if you're ever in Boise, make sure you stop by Freak Alley, you won't be sorry!
