DIY: sunglasses organization from a candle holder

Today I'm sharing a quick hack with you guys that I accidentally stumbled upon because of necessity.

See, I have kind of a lot of sunglasses. That actually might be understating the fact, really. And of course Noah has his own sunglasses (two whole pairs). And we only have a tiny little entry way landing cabinet that was getting overrun by sunglasses. Sunglasses were toppling off of it every time I put my purse down. It was a sunglassalanche.

I knew I had to do something to organize this problem space, and I came up with an original solution on the cheap. Click through to see details, and see if you can guess what I used!

Have you guessed what it is yet?

That's right, it's a candle holder! I used a vertical hanging candle holder, designed to hold small glass jars with a candle inside.

I found this candle holder at the thrift store for $0.99, and I liked it but wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I had a stroke of brilliance when I hung my sunglasses on it while I was carrying it around. It was perfect! Instead of candles in the rings, I can hang my sunglasses off of them! The little rings designed to hold the candles are exactly the right length apart to hold three rows of sunglasses, and the fact that it's a circle allows me to see all of them at once and choose the ones I want to wear. Perfect!
