My San Francisco adventure! What I wore and what I ate.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll already know that this last week I was in San Francisco for work! Noah and I were lucky enough to both get to go, and stay through the weekend to explore the city a bit.  I even wore flats (which I almost never do) because we did the majority of our touristing on foot. We got lucky and had gorgeous weather for our fun as well!

Also, if you've ever wondered what I look like with wet hair and no makeup after being up late the night before, this is it:

I'm not going to lie, I spent most of the weekend walking around with coffee in hand. The coffee in San Francisco rivals the legendary coffee in Seattle. And I'm a Washington girl originally, so saying something is better then Seattle coffee is a big deal! Click through and I'll share the rest of my vacation pics with you all!

But we ate breakfast in Union Square at Emporio Rulli, and between the pastries, the salmon breakfast sandwich and the amazing coffee I was convinced. I mean...look how pretty it is!

Look, here's Noah being pretty cute, too!

Union Square was completely fascinating, we could have spent two days just shopping and eating within a two block radius!

My favorite part of our trip though, was the vintage shopping in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. Those stores, I can't even tell you. We stopped by Decades on Haight street, and I was just in heaven. It was literally a sea of amazing vintage from the last 100 years.

We also did a ton of exploring on foot. Since we were staying at the historic Westin St. Francis Hotel in the heart of downtown, we decided to to most of our sightseeing on foot. We walked to the Cafe de la Presse and ate glorious authentic french croissants (and had more coffee), then walked literally across the street to Chinatown.

Where, I'm going to be honest, I ate more food. Freshly steamed Chinese pork buns are my weakness!

We walked all the way down to the waterfront, and stopped by the Maritime Museum and the Musee Mechanique, which was probably the coolest museum I've ever been to. A living history of arcade games you can all still play! It was so. Much. Fun.

And of course, we had to get ice cream in Ghirardelli Square!

I also got to rock my new favorite DIY, a men's t-shirt turned into a tank top! (This one is from Doofus Drop, a video game from the conference I attended) I'll be doing a tutorial on this soon, for sure.

Thanks for checking out my travel fun! I love traveling and exploring so much, and I've got plans for this summer already. So I'll be showing you guys more adventure really soon!

  1. oh I just love going to San Francisco. I love shopping at union square too, although you have to be careful of pick pockets... last weekend I caught someone literally following me for several blocks staring at my purse! EEK! I stepped aside and we had a stare down. He left me alone. Also, yes, SF has amazing coffee! Thanks for sharing at Thursday Favorite Things!
